Goodwin Competition Race Engines is a big Wisconsin outfit that builds big power for guys in drag racing, off road racing, truck pulling, and virtually anything else that requires blunt force trauma in the form of cubic inches and horsepower. In this video we see one of their engines, a 650ci Hemi get put to the test on the dyno. While we don’t get RPM or horsepower numbers from the footage we’re plenty entertained by listening to this beastly mill get up and GO when the throttle is hammered all the way open. Anyone want to hazard a guess at how high this thing spins? 8k, 9k?

One of the major joys of attending a truck pull is the fact that it is like a day of watching the most ragged edge dyno pulls you have ever seen. The truck may be turning 8,000 RPM, but it is only going 20mph! You’ll be waiting for parts to fly! This video is also further proof as to how serious truck and tractor pullers are. This is no “hobby engine” this is a mill that is headed to someone who knows how to use its power for good and not evil…because it could do a LOT of evil.
