TECH VIDEO: WATCH STEVE MAGNANTE INSTALL AN MSD ATOMIC EFI SYSTEM

MSD’s Atomic EFI system has been a huge hit since being released at the 2011 SEMA show. The bolt on EFI upgrade for virtually any car that runs a four barrel carb has been tickling the fancy of car guys that always wanted EFI but were afraid to dip their toes into the water. MSD’s tag on this product is that you can install it on Saturday morning and be cruising on Saturday night. If that sounds like a stretch to you, this video will probably change your opinion.

The guys in El Paso drafted Steve Magnante into installing a system on a Chevelle and Steve does a nice job going through the details of the installation and components of the system. If you are like us, you’ll probably be saying, “Wait, that’s it!?” a couple of times before he is through. Basically if you can install a carb and a fuel line, a rubber fuel line at that, you can install the MSD Atomic EFI system on your hot rod.

Don’t believe us? Press play below and let Magneto show you the way!

$3500 or so to make your simple car more complicated? EFI is great for turbo cars, otherwise I thought hot rods were cars that had stuff taken off, making them lighter and simpler. But hey, what do I know?

And he doesn’t know jack about Torinos. Still irks me he said on the BJ auction the 72-up cars never came with a 429!
    Sorry for the side track.

I like the look of the system, but $3500?
    I’m content to spend that on a TKO600 conversion…

$3,500? Where are you guys finding that?? At PRI the MSD guys told me $2300 and that’s about what Summit has it listed for right now. $2300 is still a good bit of money, but way less than 3500!

I don’t think I would want this one my car, but it might be perfect for my wife. She doesn’t know how to adjust a carb anyway, so I could install it and feel better knowing she won’t ever have issues if the weather changes or she lets it sit in the garage for months or whatever. Ya know? (All that, assuming it works like they say it will – but MSD has always put out quality as far as I am concerned!)
