Epic Video: The Isle of Man TT Motorcycle Race at Full Speed

Since 1907 motorcycles have come to the tiny Isle of Man to compete in one of the most prestigious races in the world. The Isle of Man TT is unique in the fact that while the vehicles and riders involved in the competition have evolved and progressed, the tiny roads and byways the event is held on have not. More than 200 riders have lost their lives over the years and it is easy to see when when you watch this video. You’ll have pucker factor in your office or easy chair!

The moments that took our breath away multiple times include the stunning crashes, full throttle fly bys that appear to happen at way more than 150mph, and mostly the jumps where riders land them with a speed wiggle that had us nearly peeing our pants on their behalf.

We’re guessing that there is no other racing event in the world that soldiers on with risk level and track record of fatalities the Isle of Man TT has racked up. The racers know it, the fans know it, and we’re all enthralled at watching these brave sould cheat the grim reaper!

Thanks for the tip, Bobby!

Guys, this is old school racing with new school technology. At .53 you see the bikes hammering through Bray’s Hill. That’s a 185 MPH corner. These bikes hit upwards of 195 MPH on the course, and the best riders average almost 140 MPH for the 38 mile lap. That includes hankering through towns. This is the most amazing thing I have ever witnessed, and I will go back.

I’ve been watching the races and reruns for a couple years now – once I saw it, I couldn’t stop. Did the guy who went flying live through it?

MotorSportWorld.tv has most of the Isle of Man TT videos in full length from the 1950s to 2010. Thought this link could be useful for those of you who really like this style of racing (which is tremendous).
