Video: Follow Along As Chuck Hanson Starts A Budget Chevelle Pro Touring Build With LS Power And Holley Parts

Chuck Hanson is a really cool guy and he is an absolute expert with regard to Chevelles. The dude knows Chevelles like Chad knows beards. No more needs to be added there. Hanson is embarking on a new Chevelle project and this one is all about bang for the buck spending with, junkyard, Craigslist, and buddy bought parts, along with new pieces where they’re necessary. He’s starting with a frame he bought for a hundred dollars from Craigslist and going from there. Initially, the car was going to have a rat motor in it, but since he is going down the pro touring road, Hanson has decided to go for a junkyard take out 5.3 LS mill.

The meat of this episode shows Hanson walking us around the car and explaining the various parts and piece in place now. The cool stuff comes when he yanks the big block out and does the LS swap, showing clearly what parts and pieces need to be used to get the new motor into the old chassis. From the correct oil pan to the right motor mounts, he walks us through the process and plunks the motor in there. The reality is, an LS won’t just fall into stuff,  but with the right parts, it’s damn close.

Your Chevelle will still handle like a slug with the stock suspension. Autox requires a whole different set up.
