Hilarious Video: Freiburger and Finnegan Bolt A Blower On to a SBC Powered Jag and Pound On It Mercilessly

The newest episode of Roadkill the web-show that documents the wacky adventures of David Freiburger and Mike Finnegan from Hot Rod Magazine was released last Friday and this one is pretty damned good…dare we say the best one yet. Instead of wanton destruction, the guys actually shell out $1,000 for a small block Chevy powered 1974 Jaguar XJ12, bolt a blower onto the tired ass motor, cruise it, and drag race it. They also overheat it roughly elevendy hundred times, develop an affinity for drive through car washes, and drop a pile of one liners on each other that garnered genuine laughter from us.

There’s some humor in the fact that they bolted about $2,000 worth of blower and carbs onto a car that they bought for a grand and is ultimately worth about $500 bucks…to us at least. The video does certainly quash the uneducated gearhead myth that simply slapping a blower on top of an engine makes the car fast, because even with the blower, this baby only bests our own tired small block powered Buford T Justice by a few tenths.

The boys seems to be on a roll with Roadkill. We’ve enjoyed the last few episodes and look forward to the next wacky adventure in a couple of weeks!

Press play below to see Finnegan and Freiburger take a relatively rare Jag from lame and slow to way less lame and slightly more swift.

I’m REALLY jealous and after the 7th episode I still can’t believe they’re getting paid to do stuff like that. I would actually pay to stuff like that (which is what HotRod Mag is doing).
It’s a bit like a dramaless monster garage with wise-grips instead of welding.
    Keep it coming!

Back in ’06 when I was in the USMC, we drove a 2000 Cobra R out to Sacramento Raceway. I remember looking at some dude in a Caddy looking at me, in about the same weather conditions. He gave me a thumbs up on the car, and I never wanted a late 90’s Cadillac so bad in my life.
