Instant Classic Carnage Video: If At First You Hit the Wall Don’t Try Again

Instant Classic Carnage Video: If At First You Hit the Wall Don’t Try Again

Some videos are instant classics, this is one. Shot at Houston Motorsports Park by NitroArtVideo, it shows a fatally flawed Camaro making one hit on the starting line that results in him slapping the wall, which would probably discourage a lot of racers from running again, but not this one. The next time he stands on the gas, well you have to see what happens the next time he stands on the gas.

The quality of welding work on your race car is pretty important. We wouldn’t recommend having this guy do it.

you took a fine time to leave me, loose wheel…..

Were those brackets even welded to the axle? Another reason why I don’t like MIG welders in the hands of an inexperienced welder.

It’s a damned shame this guy put so much money work, time into the fancy black flamed paint job – and not on the chassis welding work.

if he hired out the chassis work….. I hope that welder is no longer employed!

how do they know it was welding.. and not a rod or link?

assume weak stuff first. looks like straws dangling off the rear end.

first off ide tip my hat to the man for not letting a damn thing stop him from racing sorry about your car but yea the welds were alitte shady

He’s allowed to wear shorts because apparently I’m the only one that noticed that he has no legs! Take a second look after he steps out of the car; Charlie McCarthy would be proud!

As a medically discharged Army guy I’m just going to wildly guess that he was a soldier who lost his legs in an IED. With the military TSGLI, tramatic service members life insurance policy) each limb is worth $50,000. I’m guessing he paid someone to build it at a slip shod shop near base while he was convalessing. Just a wild guess but I’ve seen this kind of thing more than a few times while I was in the Warrior Transition Unit at Ft Campbell. Glad it didn’t stop him but bought rather than built and as a fabricator ditto to Leon

That’s the fault of the sanctioning body. With SCTA/BNI, if there is any kind of incident, the car is brought back to inspection and checked before being able to go out again. Who let this thing out on the track after it hit the wall?

if you look closer on the video, the plate is only tack welded. seems to me it was deliberately done to make some good show, if it was ITS STUPID!
