Midget Of The Corn, Part 3: A Running Roadster And Can You Say, “Derecho”?

Midget Of The Corn, Part 3: A Running Roadster And Can You Say, “Derecho”?

A few days ago a huge storm ripped through the upper Midwest, through Iowa, Illinois, Wisconsin, and other locations. Winds in excess of 100 miles per hour raged, wreaking damage to crops, property, and sadly, four people who didn’t make it out. We’re talking legitimate damage, which YouTuber “Cole The Cornstar”, a young farmer, showed off in a video that you can check out by CLICKING HERE. It was Cole’s property that the 1968 MG Midget that Junkyard Digs was trying to revive was parked, and that certainly didn’t help any matters whatsoever. That sick pit in the stomach of rolling back into what could be a genuine disaster is one thing, but it sounds like Kevin was actually starting to like the Midget. Facing the possibility that the revival could be over before it was finished was a very real deal.

We’re not trying to downplay a rare, violent storm that just seems to be par for the course for the Year We Should Forget, but once you assess the damage the first thing you have to do is get to work. You can’t just stand around staring at the wreckage. The Midget did not escape the derecho unscathed, but it’s not so far gone that it can’t be finished off. Here’s the latest update in the struggle to get a little British mainstay to live once again:

Yes I can say “Derecho”. Was out of power 36 hours. Trees over three foot across knocked over onto houses and power lines. All within a half mile of here.
