ABANDONED 1955 Chevy Nomad Update – The $85 Paint Job Gets A Couple Dollars More Expensive With Patina

Well, the forgotten project Nomad is moving right along! It’s been painted and now some of that pain is going away in favor of some other pain, and some oil and who knows what else to make it look all old and barn find ish. Check it out.

It started out as less car than he thought it was, but that just means the progress on this thing is sort of fluid. And so is the plan for it, which is why the thing is now a gasser! Just look at it now. In this latest build video the thing is getting cheap paint. Yes, ultra cheap paint is going onto a real Nomad. WTF? Watch.

DD Speed Shop has no shortage of project cars and somehow this one was completely forgotten. I don’t know how that’s possible, but man I’m glad they have such cool ones to remember, like this 1955 Nomad. Check it out and see what’s coming next right here!

Video Description:

Last episode we put down a $85 Tremclad paint job on this “rare” 1955 Chevy Nomad. Flat black is a timeless ratty look, but I wanted to take it to the next level. My goal was to get the perfect “barn find” look.

To get that perfect patina look we needed to add paint, distress the paint, polish the paint then coat the paint with some protective oil. Always something satisfying about sanding clear through a brand new paint job.

What do you guys this of this faux patina paint job?
