One of the highlights of my annual pilgrimage to Las Vegas is that I get the chance to see friends and associates in the business that I wouldn’t normally see elsewhere. Case in point is Derek from Vice Grip Garage, who was drinking from the proverbial firehose while poking around everything on the property. I’ve met the guy before, during this year’s Kentucky stop of Hot Rod Power Tour, and I had to wonder why he was out and about in Las Vegas. Surely, the weather couldn’t be such a massive leap forward from whatever Minnesota is like in early November that he had to just come out and live up the palm trees and desert sunsets, could it?
Whatever the case, he certainly has found some inspiration for his projects back home, one of which is the Chevrolet C10 pickup truck that is somewhere between rust and roadworthy. Okay, that might be too far, but you northerners know all about what tinworm can honestly do and VGG is all about putting this thing on the road by any means necessary. What does that entail? Well…let’s leave it at this: nothing against ya, Derek, but stay away from my license plate collection.
