There is something fantastic when we see race cars operating out side of the boundaries we expect to see them in. Back in the day it was not uncommon to see guys take the cars they ran at the Indy 500 and compete on dirt tracks with them, stock car guys running on dirt and asphalt, and the list goes on and on.
As racing advanced and developed the cars become more and more specialized for specific tasks and circle track car ran in circles while road racing cars ran on road courses. When these two worlds collide, everyone wins. From the driver who gets to wheel the car to the fans who get to see people doing stuff they have likely not seen before, the entertainment value is high.
If you do not believe us, look no further than the video below which puts us in the cockpit of a super late model stock car that’s doing some testing on the bends at Road Atlanta. The machine is a handful and we watch the driver get more and more comfortable and aggressive as he goes on. Once he really lets this thing eat you will see many, many cars swallowed whole. We’re guessing this was some kind of open track day because the variety of cars on the course was pretty wide ranging.
If you don’t think this is cool, see yourself out.
Great sounds
Loved it, looked like he was having the time of his life, you know what they say, a change is as good as a break.
