We’re capping off the week in grand style, with some in car video from a very unique drag machine. The car that we’re riding in by watching this video is an old Galaxie station wagon that has been outfitted with a 428CJ engine, which is backed by a five speed Doug Nash transmission. The car isn’t the quickest sled on the strip, but that’s no problem because the car is so damned cool.
We run so many videos of four speeds that it creeped us out initially when we saw the driver jam the ol’ Doug Nash into the five spot. The car sounds good, and it must do some bitchin’ stuff on the starting line!

Looked like Mike Moran’s old Pinto wagon in the other lane on the first pass… must have been back during the early Fastest Street Car Years…

Great video! I was wondering if that was Larry. We met him when he stopped in at Norwalk Raceway with his GMC blown, 4 speed, 64 Galaxie during Drag Week ’09. Nice guy who carries the stick shift banner proudly. Fun to see him rowin’ the gears!
My mother used to drive a 64 Galaxy 500 XL sedan.
My mother also used to have a terrible temper.
This video reminds me of riding in the car with her when she was pissed off!
