Joel Nystrom is a BangShift.com forum member operating under the name of HemiJoel. He’s also a racer in the F.A.S.T series that pits cars which appear to the stock on the surface against one another in all out drag racing warfare. Joel’s car is a 1967 GTX that runs a bored and stroked Hemi. On freaking bias-ply tires it’ll run into the 10-second zone. That’s bad ass. It’s also sporting a manual transmission, which means, it’s gear baning time!

In this video Joel runs up against F.A.S.T hitter Dave Dudek. Dudek’s Road Runner is the quickest F.A.S.T car of all time, holding the record at 10.18 in the quarter-mile. Yes, on freaking bias-ply tires. Joel does a nice job on the gear changes here but it ain’t enough to get around the Dudek buzz saw. Get ’em next time Joel!
