Bug Out ‘Stang: This 2009 Ford Mustang Has 11″ Of Suspension Travel, And Exocage, and An Evil Demeanor

We have to thank BangShifter Chris Yocum for tipping us off to the existence of this creation the likes of which we have never seen before. Not a trar because it is all car, not a chassis swap of any kind, this is a 2009 Ford Mustang that has been designed and modified to be a kind of zombie killer, bug out, off road capable daily driver.

Make no mistake, this is not just big tires and creative work with a Sawzall. The car has 9.4″ of suspension travel up front and 11.6″ of travel out back. There’s a custom front suspension, not just some janky lifting blocks and stuff, the engine is a warmed up 4.0L V6 (which we were kind of surprised to find), and the whole thing is ridiculous but also done seriously and not as some sort of a joke. There’s a video below that shows the car off as well as the link to the Craigslist ad that is trying to sell it.

Late model Mustang fans may freak at the fact that this is a glass roof car. We’re not sure how many were made with the complete, yes complete, glass roof but we’re guessing that those numbers were pretty small. We have a sneaking feeling that in 20-30 years this will be a car that pops back up and is restored to factory settings. For now though, it is one of the more interesting off-road capable cars we have seen in forever.

Love it or hate it, you have to respect the work here. Check out the link first for the list of modifications and then the video below.

Here’s the link to the CL ad selling this baby — interesting stuff for sure

Check out this video (unfortunate music) and loads of photos below!

  1. Chevy Hatin' Mad Geordie

Well you’ve got the car now make Mad Max 4 to go with it – after a GMC blown Shotgun with nitrous is slotted in under the hood!
