This Guy Turned A Chevrolet Express Into An All-In-One Bug-Out Van That Can Carry His Dog, His Bike And A Place To Sleep!

This Guy Turned A Chevrolet Express Into An All-In-One Bug-Out Van That Can Carry His Dog, His Bike And A Place To Sleep!

Are you familiar with “toterhomes”…the all-in-one deal that packs a roadworthy house and a toy hauler into one unit? Usually they’re based on a semi-truck with the largest sleeper system we’ve ever seen and a pup trailer for the toy hauling, they’re expensive enough to cause even the more well-to-do folks to sweat a bit, and most of the time you need a CDL just to drive the damn thing. The concept is great…I mean, who wouldn’t want to have a nice place to lay your head and hide your bike after a fun day of riding trails? Our issue is with the execution. I don’t want to have to attend truck-driving school just so that I can make a day trip to Glamis.

YouTuber “CycleCruza” came up with a compact, if not better, solution to the toter home: using a used Chevrolet Express cargo van, he built up what he refers to as a “bug-out van”. The concept is pretty much based on a Class B Motorhome design: take a full-size van and work the interior to make maximum use out of the interior. You’ll get the full tour of the modifications, including the solar panel roof and the night-vision security camera system that is installed, but all of that overlies one thing: the Express can store his dog, motorcycle and still have enough area left over to sleep comfortably. Score!

(Thanks to Darren for the tip!)

    Wow!

    I’m totally underwhelmed!

A few years ago whilst at the Newcastleton Music Festival I sat in a LWB Mercedes van that had a wood-buring fireplace installed and a sliding door made out of a pool table with the Jack Daniels logo on it. It had full cooking facilities a separate bedroom and a log store out back.

That was one hell of a weekend I can tell you – good company, good smoke and fine drink – thank you Steve from Bathgate in Scotland I cherish that memory!

Lol, a van conversion? Am I missing something? I wonder if anyone else has thought of this. Again, lol

    Wow, great job-but—
You should see the vans we Converted in the 70’s !!!!
And we are still using them to camp and hall bikes!

nice build. a place for everything and everything has a purpose. Something most people who are handy could do for a little money and time…Nothing that would break the bank so to speak….cleaver.

CycleCruza rules! i dig most of his videos, and just love his point of view on most stuff! he’s usually wrong and he’ll end up backpedalling to a new revised answer… his heart is in the right place, since he’s an advocate for motorcycle riding, being safe and cheap! i’ve been into cars all my life and got into bikes fairly recently, i find his videos entertaining and sometimes hilarious! now if he just painted a naked chick on the side of his bug out van….. and dont forget the N50s and sidepipes!
