When we watched this old International truck commercial from 1961 it made us kind of sad. Why? Mainly because we live in a world where we’ll never see another ad for a “personal” dump truck on television. These days you simply buy a cab and chassis and then ship them off to an up fitter to have the dump body mounted and plumbed in.

Back in 1961 you could walk into your friendly neighborhood International dealer and buy a dump truck that was completely made in-house at International. We’d absolutely maim someone to own the truck featured in the ad, or one just like it. Dig the seating position of the drive with the wheel basically buried up in his chest. That’s the driving position of our Goliath truck, and it just feels old school.  

This is a cool ad in our eyes because there probably hasn’t been one similar for at least 15-20 years!
