Video: Watch A Hairy 565ci, Blown, Alky Burning, Big Block Chevy Make 2,000hp With Holley EFI

This is the type of motor that makes us look at the computer screen and yell OOGA BOOGA after seeing it make a dyno pull. It is 565ci of 10-71 blown, alcohol burning, Pro-Filer headed, and Holley Dominator EFI fed nastiness. You may actually sprout a beard after watching this engine make a couple of pulls on the dyno from the pure sound it makes. The screaming blower nearly downs out the bellow of the engine beneath it.

According to the description below the video the engine was built by Prodigy Engine Development and uses 16 fuel injectors to feed the engine. There are eight injectors positioned above the blower and eight injectors positioned in the intake ports a Holley Dominator is the brains of operation. At the close of the video, a scroll says that the engine made 2,000hp at 28 lbs of boost and 1460 at only 8.5 lbs and that the mill will be powering a top dragster rail in NHRA Division three competition. With that kind of power, the bottom of the six second zone will be well within reach unless the car is a real porker…as in it is made of cast lead.

Electronic fuel injection is becoming as much a part of the scene in sportsman drag racing on all levels as it is infiltrating the world of muscle cars, street machines, and hot rods. The fact is, systems like the Dominator are now user friendly enough that racers and ‘rodders can learn to use them and  make precision adjustments on race day to tune their cars to the track conditions. We’ll be hunting for video of this dragster in action when racing season starts. It should be a rocket ship.
