Video: Watch A Katech Built LS Engine Scream To 9,000 RPM And Make 730 N/A HP! 6.0L Iron Block!

This is one of those dyno videos that should make the hair stand up on the back of your neck with total appreciation for the badassery you’re watching. The mill you can hear working in this video is a 6.0L, iron block LS engine built by the dudes at Katech. Featuring 15:1 compression, a Kinsler stack style intake manifold with EFI and C5R “small port” heads, this is one mean son of a bitch and for far more reasons than the symphonic tunes it makes through the headers at full song.

The video shows a couple of the computer screens that are set up at the dyno operator’s station and they tell an interesting tale. The screen on the left is where you can watch the mill RPM into the 9,000 range and where you can see the horsepower number spiral up and up during the pull. The screen on the right is what you should look at the second time you play this baby and we know you’ll play it twice! On that right hand screen is a bar graph showing the air fuel ratios in each cylinder during the pull. It is damned cool to see just how close they all are during the engine’s time at full throttle.

There are “engine builders” who are little more than assemblers of other people’s parts and then there are the guys like Katech who really push the envelope of research and development with mills like this one. 15:1 compression, 9,000 RPM, an iron block, and 730 N/A hp? Yeah, we have blood rushing out of our head to other places, too.

Press play below to see and hear an awesome dyno pull featuring a wicked Katech built LS-engine!
