Watch a Reher-Morrison NHRA Super Stock Hemi Scream to Almost 9,000RPM on the Dyno

Watch a Reher-Morrison NHRA Super Stock Hemi Scream to Almost 9,000RPM on the Dyno

This is some glorious noise! We recently discovered that world famous engine building company Reher and Morrison has a YouTube channel that they are posting dyno videos on. They have a few of them up there now, but we think that this one is top shelf material. Rehr and Morrison build engines for everything from fast bracket cars, super stockers, and all the way up into the Pro Mod and Pro Stock ranks. This video shows a Super Stock legal hemi on one of their dynos and at full song, the elephant motor nearly tickles 9,000 RPM. The sound is like some kind of demonic mechanical symphony!

The guys that race the SS/AH class are a small and dedicated breed. The engines are pulled every 10-20 runs and sent back to the builder for freshening, the top cars run as closely as Pro Stocks, and their operating budgets for these sportsman cars are so massive that only those with major league wealth or extreme mechanical ability to save money can compete. SS/AH cars are the most mythical in drag racing and this video gives you a little taste of why that is.

Press play and crank the sound….you don’t hear a 9,000RPM Hemi running full bore every day!

NHRA should have left the class for Hemi Darts and Cudas as SS/AA. Make up some other designation for the new factory Super Stockers.
