Watch Eric Teboul Make The Quickest And Fastest Motorcycle Pass In Drag Racing History On A Hydrogen Peroxide Rocket Motorcycle (VIDEO)

Frenchman Eric Teboul reset the all time quarter mile elapsed time and speed records for a two wheeled vehicle two days ago at Bradenton Motorsports Park in Florida by running 5.12/264 in the quarter mile. Teboul was riding his hydrogen peroxide rocket powered motorcycle at the Haltech Manufacturers Cup finals. It is important to note  that Teboul lowered his own records in the process. Best we can tell he had been 5.19 previously on the bike which has been wowing crowds at tracks in Europe for a number of years. We believe that this is the first time that Eric has appeared in the United States with the machine and he certainly made an impression! Like all hydrogen peroxide rocket powered vehicles, speeds and elapsed times are basically set by the amount of fuel the vehicle has to burn during a run. In their pre-race promotions, the Manufacturers Cup people were claiming that Teboul was going to increase his fuel load in the machine in order to break his own records. We understand that Teboul normally has the motorcycle under power until the eighth mile and then the bike is essentially coasting to the finish. He obviously had a little more sauce in the tank to power himself further down the track and run the big numbers. Second hand stories from the event indicate that stopping the motorcycle from that speeds was a bit of an exercise in courage so the mark was not challenged in any additional runs.

Lots of people wrongly believe that hydrogen peroxide rocket cars are “banned” from US tracks. The fact that they disappeared in the 1980s leads many to falsely think that they were legislated out of existence by sanctioning bodies. That simply is not true. What killed these cars as viable acts in the USA was a lack of high grade and pure hydrogen peroxide to fuel them. Teboul obviously has a supply in Europe and he brought enough with him to Florida to put on the greatest string of elapsed times and speeds in drag racing history for a two wheeled vehicle. That’s freaking awesome no matter how you slice it.

Here are a few videos that people shot from various locations on the track. It is insane how quickly this thing is rolling and gone when he hits the button to force the pressurized hydrogen peroxide over the silver screen, which then produces the steam that’s forced through a nozzle and creates the massive thrusts that rockets him down course!

ERIC TEBOUL, WE SALUTE YOU AND YOUR MASSIVE UMMMM GUTS!

(Skip to just over 2:00 to miss the build up…but we recommend watching the whole thing)

Amazed he has time to get his feet on the “pegs” after launching. I too thought rocket vehicles were sanctioned out… I had always heard there were some 3 second Dragster passes but Drivers were passing out on such a pass. Guess I was wrong.

Here in the UK I get to see Eric at least twice a year and having seen him for many years I am still amazed with his rocket bike.
Eric also has a top fuel bike (although destined to go to Finland) and that is very nice as well
