Watch Hilarious Video of an English Kiddie Ride Converted Into a Drag Car!

One of the best parts about drag racing is the fact that most of us in the sport have a pretty good sense of humor. From guys who take massive, heavy cars and make them haul ass on the strip to dudes like the ones you’ll see in the video below that build wild, tiny vehicles from child’s rides, it is all cool in our eyes.

Thanks to a tip from BangShifter Chuck Noble, we were laughing until our sides split watching video of this English “Postman Pat” van. The van was originally the body of a kiddie ride like one would find outside of a market or department store. Some wacky Brits took the van body and then built a tiny Funny Car style chassis to put under it, added a small four stroke engine up front, figured out a way to get power to the rear and stuck a sequential transmission in the middle. What they ended up with is a hilarious mix of small and fast that we really want to drive. We’re not 100% sure what it runs, but it sure seems to be hauling down the quarter mile at England’s Shakespeare County Raceway at over 100 MPH to us.

Press play and be prepared to laugh at the brilliance of these dudes!

Thanks for the artical i am lucky enough to be the driver of the said ‘van’ We so far have run 14.5 @ 96mph, still in testing an development! Not bad for a 39 inch wheel base!

It was built by two freinds Tom Armitage and Dave Taylor, mainly as a joke that has gone slightly outa hand, stay tuned on you tube for more vidoes and updates!

Picking a better staring line stance might bring the 5+ m.p.h.to top the century mark.It looks like the starting line is a bit too bouncy for this van.

Maybe just start in second gear. It’s sounds like your shifting almost instantly anyways. Funny how a joke can get out of control.

that’s how fast these really are if you can get them off that rocking stand they sit on at the stores. Honest!

Sounds like a honda 400 ex. maybe air shifted. looks like somthing I would like to build. cept for the mail.truck body(which would be impossible to find here). maybe the horse ride would be easier to find. My grandfather built my brothers and I somthing very similar to this when we where 7,8,and 9.. We been doin stupid sh!/ with cars and mash ups ever since.
