Want A Wheelie Weird 1961 Fairlane? This One Has Been Shortened, Rear-Motored, and Stands Up At Will

Want A Wheelie Weird 1961 Fairlane? This One Has Been Shortened, Rear-Motored, and Stands Up At Will

From the famed Hemi Under Glass to the Roadkill Stubby Bob truck, there is a fascination out there with building vehicles that pull wheelies. That fascination caught the eye of our own dedicated CraigsList treasure hunter Rocco Bastone because he found this bizarre 1961 Ford Fairlane for sale on the site and it is a total creep show…in an interesting way. The car began life as a four door and was then chopped down to a “shorty” two door, something that we radically hate here. BUT, things took a turn for the interesting when the drivetrain was developed.

Moving the engine location to the area under the rear window and changing the engine to a Cadillac 472 from an Eldorado makes this thing way more good but still pretty freaking weird. The car has been painted to look like an old police patrol car, the interior is mostly factory looking, and the wheels are a mismatched group of ungoodness.

The seller claims that the car is fun to drive around and a stab of the throttle puts the front end in the air at will. Thankfully he has a beefy truck beam axle under the nose of this thing because the landings won’t be as sort when you are trying to drive it!

You can laugh, you can point, but can you admit that you may kind of want it?

  1. Chevy Hatin' Mad Geordie

Two thin needles should be inserted into this dork just under his eyes to lobotomise him so he never ever builds such a load of shit again!
