Police in England stopped a late model Audi A4 after seeing the passenger compartment was overpopulated by a couple of people. Imagine their surprise when they opened the trunk to find four more people, all kids, stuffed in like stowaways. Adding insult to an already injurious situation, the Audi was not insured. A minor traffic accident would have turned into a mass casualty or death situation. The driver of the car decided to skip the country before his trial date so he was convicted in abstentia. He’s not going to want to drive so much as a moped in England any time soon, or ever again for that matter.

According to a story in the Daily Mail newspaper, there were two girls, ages 11 and five in the trunk lying on top of two boys, aged 10 and seven. In the seating area of the car which is designed to hold five people in less than adequate comfort (ever ridden with 4 other people in an A4? It sucks.) there were two women an a man in the back seat…along with a three year old child and a nine-month old baby, none of which were belted in. The driver of the car, Zoltan Lakatos actually told police, when questioned about why the kids were not belted, “It doesn’t matter, they are only children.” Oh yeah, this guy is headed for the worst person in the world Hall of Fame.

He was fined and his licence was pulled so he is not allowed to drive in England, but the jerk ran away before his trial so he is probably cruising the Hungarian streets with a Toyota Yaris that seats 14 or so.
