24 Year Old Man Launches Mustang GT Off of a Parking Garage!

24 Year Old Man Launches Mustang GT Off of a Parking Garage!

We’ve had a busy afternoon in the BangShift news room with tips literally pouring in from all over the world. This one is hot off the presses from Switzerland where a 24-year old man unintentionally launched a brand new 5.0L Mustang off the third story of a parking garage. We have no idea how it happened but we do know that the driver only suffered minor scrapes and bruises, which seems like kind of a miracle, but there were mopeds and a tree to break his fall, so that could explain it.

Authorities are still investigating the accident, but we bet it was a simple case of the dude thinking he was in reverse when in fact he was in a forward gear that caused this. One of the photos, the first we will show below, gives a great perspective on how far the car flew. You can see what looks to be a policeman standing by the open panel that the car smashed through. That falling concrete panel did wonders for the motorcycles parked below, as well.

This is further proof for anyone looking to make an aeroplane out of a Mustang that your idea is a terrible one.

Tighten your belts and assume the crash positon before scrolling down!

Thanks for the tip Marc!

    All I can say is DAMN.
    Well, that and I wondered, was he going YYYOODDDEEELLLAAAYYYY—WWWHHHHOOOOOO as the car flew?
    {Or, RICKOLAAAAAAAAA, dealer choice}

    I would to see him explain this to the insurance company! “You’ll need more than the little box” (Top Gear British Layland cars)

    Imagine the horror on the faces of the scooter club once they return from retrieving some hot cocoa. Poor little pansies.

    Looks like it landed on the trunk and bounced. Tough steel guard rails. With the distance travelled and the energy required to “punch through” the garage wall, it was either intentional or got the foot on the wrong pedal.

    Coupla hours with the rotary and some wet n dry .
    Maybe not . Lol
    If your gonna do something , do it right 1st time . Thats what i say

    If one were to look at the main floor roof, it would most likely show signs of impact, as the cars nose appears to have scratching consistent with contact from more than the ‘gate’ that it initially broke through.

    After whacking the roof, it probably flipped over sufficiently to land butt-first on the guard rails. What a ride THAT must have been!

    This is actually not a big surprise to me. Obviously the guy has no clue how to drive and should have never bought a stick shift, but the 6 Speed Manual Transmission that comes in the new Mustang has a safety feature to keep it from accidently going into reverse. From neutral you have to push the shifter down (into the box) and then downward and left (as in relative direction) before moving the stick up. If you’re still pretty new to the car it’s easy to end up in first.
