2014 Spring Charlotte AutoFair – Huge Numbers Of The South’s Coolest Cars Gather In Charlotte

2014 Spring Charlotte AutoFair – Huge Numbers Of The South’s Coolest Cars Gather In Charlotte

(Photos by Jesse Kiser) – Twice a year, the the Charlotte Motor Speedway is not filled with the rumbling noises of NASCAR stock cars but rather with the gleaming paint, shiny wheels, and classic looks of hot rods, restored classics, trucks, and all manner of other customized vehicles at the famed AutoFair events. Recently, Jesse Kiser was on the high banks of the famous track at the Spring version of the event and he filed this gallery of his 100 favorite cars, trucks, and scenes. This is one of the largest car shows and car corrals in the southeastern part of the county and we know more than one person that makes the trek down to it from New England every year. Often times people hit this event with cash in their pocket because there are typically more than 1,000 cars for sale over the course of the weekend ranging from show quality machines to the bare bones to start a project with.

The other insane thing about the AutoFair is the swap meet. They sell 10,000 vendors spaces for the freakin’ swap! While eBay, Craigslist, RacingJunk, and other sites have certainly taken a bite out of the good ol’ swap meet scene, this thing is still jamming and with 10,000 spaces we’re sure there is some wildly rare and weird stuff among the pile of things for sale. The event happens again in September and we’ll keep you posted on that because this is an event to have on your “list”.

I was there all day Saturday. It was one of the best Spring meets I have seen in recent years. Lots of people carrying parts, including me. Some great deals on parts and cars. My one Son came up from Charleston SC and met up with a few friends that live locally. It always nice to come home to CMS.
