BangShift Project Files Update: Checking In On A Toyota FJ40 That Has Been Given A Second Lease On Life!

BangShift Project Files Update: Checking In On A Toyota FJ40 That Has Been Given A Second Lease On Life!

If you go into the woods of Western Washington, there is no telling what you may find. There’s just about everything you can think of hidden among the blackberry vines and salal thickets and forests of scotch broom and Douglas Fir. If you are lucky, you’ll find pristine evergreen growth, mountain creeks flowing to Puget Sound, and plenty of animals as Stellar’s jays bark at you from the trees. If you’re unlucky, you might find one of the Pacific Northwests’ biggest and hairiest legends in a foul temper. But if you happen to stumble upon a workshop in a valley of sorts, mind your step: a fabricator lives here, and his work is never done.

You might, however, take a look at his Toyota FJ40 Land Cruiser that is sitting nearby. This machine has been a point of pride for Aaron Christensen for about two years now, starting out as a basket case of a truck that had a mostly decent body. To say that he has done a lot of work to get this Toyota to look as beautiful as it does now is almost an insult to the work that the man has put into it. From the ground up, this FJ needed just about everything gone through and prepared, and Aaron has been busy stripping, fixing, swapping, and doing just about every and anything that needed to be done himself in his garage.

fj4overland6It may look completed, but we know Christensen…a gear head’s work is never done. There is more to do, so you can step in and see his latest projects (hand-built tool boxes) or go to the beginning and catch up on the entire build from start to finish. Just make sure you don’t disturb this mad scientist at work when he’s in the shop…he is back in the woods a bit of a ways, and when he says he’s gonna get a Buick for you, he doesn’t mean a car.

‘Tis a bad-ass vehicle, Siberia couldn’t stop this thing. (Siberia with gas stations…). Does remind me a bit of that more commonly-branded 4×4 (rhymes with “bleep”) that ruled the track on that Alaska show.
