For Freiburger, old haggard cars and trucks are like cute rescue puppies, you just can’t resist them. He’s got all kinds of projects, which he talked about in the last video. But this one here is about a specific car and a specific adventure to get it home. This cool wagon is one of those kinds of project cars that everyone wants. Clean enough to drive, enjoy, and be seen in. Just look at it. But it has been sitting for some time, so Freiburger and Dave Chappelle are going to make it a runner again before David drives it home.
Video Description:
My first big adventure on The David Freiburger Channel is a killer road trip in a great old 1971 Ford Torino station wagon bought sight unseen. Ride along with me for wrenching with Dirthead Dave Chappelle, exploring an abandoned WWII Kaiser Aluminum plant, and hitting the road with a few breakdowns and lots of ‘40s and ‘50s Americana in Oregon, Idaho, and California.
Ghost signs, old neon, a haunted asylum, a ghost town, a deserted junkyard—it’s all here, and more.
My channel will feature trips like this plus project cars and engine tech. Nearly everything will be dosed with history and fun facts.
If you dig it, please tell people about my channel! It also helps to watch as many videos as you can. And if you comment within a day or two of a new video being posted, there’s a pretty solid chance I’ll respond.
I’ll have a new video every Thursday at 3:00 PM Pacific, at least until I gather some data and decide if you’d all prefer a different time or day.
Thank you for being here!—D/F
