GEN 2 LT1 INTAKE TEST-CARB VS EFI! STOCK LT1 EFI VS GM DUAL-PLANE & EDELBROCK VRS CARB. WHO WINS?

GEN 2 LT1 INTAKE TEST-CARB VS EFI! STOCK LT1 EFI VS GM DUAL-PLANE & EDELBROCK VRS CARB. WHO WINS?

I’ve got a Gen 2 LT1 in a 1956 Chevy, and it has always been a fun engine. It’s mostly stock, but when we put a stand alone EFI on it and significantly improved ignition, we were able to squeeze a surprising amount of extra power out of it. So when I saw Richard doing more testing on his LT1 I figured there was some good stuff to learn. Check out the video below and see what you think of his testing intakes on this bad boy to see if the EFI is better or is a dual plane and a carburetor the really good setup?

Video Description:

HOW MUCH POWER DOES A GEN-2 LT1 REALLY MAKE? CARB VS EFI-WHICH ONE MAKES MORE POWER? WHICH ONE MAKES MORE TORQUE? HOW GOOD IS THE FACTORY LT1 INTAKE MANIFOLD? CAN AN OLD-SCHOOL CARBURETOR COMPETE WITH MODERN FUEL INJECTION? HOW GOOD IS THE EDELBROCK VRS CARBURETOR? CHECK OUT THIS VIDEO WHERE I RAN A STOCK, GEN-2 LT1 ON THE DYNO WITH THE FACTORY EFI LT1 INTAKE AND THROTTLE BODY USING A HOLLEY HP MANAGEMENT SYSTEM. I THEN REPLACED THE EFI INDUCTION SYSTEM WITH AN EDELBROCK VRS CARBURETOR AND GM PERFORMANCE LT1-BASED, DUAL-PLANE INTAKE. IN THE CARBS VS COMPUTERS SHOOTOUT, WHO CAME OUT ON TOP?
