Tony Angelo Swaps An 800+ Horsepower NASCAR V8 Into His 1955 Chevy Street Car! Part 3: Firing This Bad Boy Up For The First Time!

This bad boy is going to run in this video whether it likes it or not!

Tony Angelo is back at it on his cool 1955 Chevy, and even if we weren’t Tri-Five fans around here we’d totally approve of the 800+ horsepower small-block NASCAR combo he’s got going in it! But since we are big Tri-Five fans around here then we really dig it and can’t wait to see this thing hit the streets for some tire smoking fun. How about you? Do you approve?

Of course you do! This is a street strip project, so this SB 2.2 combo will be a riot for sure. If you aren’t familiar, the SB 2.2 engine package consisted of race parts designed for big power and high rpm for long long periods of time. The heads are where the magic is and you can bolt them onto a traditional small-block Chevrolet block without much effort, but that’s about the only similarity to traditional small-block Chevrolet heads. These suckers flow big amounts of fuel and air and are awesome at making big power in combinations that are only 358 cubic inches.

So watch the video and lets see what kind shenanigans Tony gets up to while stuffing this evil small block between the fenders of his ’55.
