The 4.0L Jeep inline six is a battle-tested, tough as nails running power plant that has served millions and millions of Jeep owners through thick and thin. As of late these engines have been getting more and more love. The Edelbrock aluminum head has really opened up some possibilities on the valve train side with its ability to operate with larger camshafts. COMP knew this and instinctively did what they always do, lead the way in bringing the end user options for making more power and getting more use out of their vehicle.

Three new Xtreme 4×4 camshafts are being offered for 4.oL Jeep applications. There is a 197/201 duration cam that is good for stock engines both carb equipped and EFI equipped raging from the 1960s into the late 1990s. That one has .450 lift. The next step is a 209/213 combo which is recommended for carb’d applications with an aftermarket head. That one offers .498 lift on the intake side and .507 on the exhaust. Finally the third option is a 205/213 grind that offers a 113-degree LSA (110 for the last cam) and .488/.507 lift. Also this one likes a carb and an aftermarket head.

Adding a high energy roller timing set and the ovate wire springs built for the increased lift that these cams offer and you are going to have one snappy 4.0L inliner. We love that COMP is right there for Jeepers when they need it.
