Things have been weird around the area of the eastern BS HQ since hurricane Irene blew through last weekend. There are still towns without power, lots of people who have not showered in days, and plenty of trees still laying across roads. There’s also one guy who really needed beer and wasn’t afraid to drive 5mph to go and get it!
There’s certainly a joke in here somewhere. Perhaps the dude has the clipping bins filled with ice and Sam Adams Old Milwaukee or he’s got a Gear Vendors bolted behind the 12hp engine and the tractor will do 40mph. Either way this person, DROVE THEIR LAWN TRACTOR TO THE LIQUOR STORE…IN REAL LIFE!

Had an alcoholic neighbor in Michigan (no surprise there) who had lost HER license due to a DUI. She would ride her garden tractor carrying her empties to get the bottle deposit back. Watched her do that daily for years, sometimes even in the snow.
Not the liquor store, but the beer store. Reason being its only a half block away and its as close to go there as it is my fridge, and I do it most for laughs.
I also ride my son along sometimes so he can get candy. I have to ride by the old 30’s GM dealership building which is now the maint. shop for England Furniture, always a hoot when I pull the wheels crossing the road,pics next trip
If I had a tractor, I would drive it all over town. I have a hankering for a Ford 8N in fact and perhaps next year….

We had a neighbor who, after getting religion, decided to bring home a guy was supposedly getting his life back together again and have him live on the property, just to “help him out” and assist his fellow man. Of course the dude was just a common bum out to take whatever you’d give him plus a little more.
With no vehicle of his own, bum-dude would actually wait until his host was gone to work, and then take the guy’s lawn tractor to the liquor store 7/10 mile away rather than hoof, it because he was so lazy.
To my neighbor’s credit that deal didn’t last long.
I’ve taken my golf cart. The neat thing about taking a mower is you can put all your “package goods” in the double bagger and stealth your way back to the hacienda.
Ask Charles if he’s seen a tractor parked in front of a bar in San Leon or Kemah. It happens. 🙂
Sad thing? You don’t have to have a license to drive a mower to the store, but they can still give you a DUI on one!
