Vice Grip Garage Stock Car Tribute 1776 Monte Carlo LS Swap – Part 4: It’s Finished And Running!

Vice Grip Garage Stock Car Tribute 1776 Monte Carlo LS Swap – Part 4: It’s Finished And Running!

This is the final part before this bad boy goes on Sick Week! It is going to have a whole new lease on life, with a new look and some power from the Corvette LS. Check out the final installment and some “testing”.

According to Derek, the LS barely fits! If you want to see why then watch Part 2 of this LS Swap. If you haven’t seen Part 1, or how he came about getting this LS out of the Corvette it lived in previously, then use the links below.

We recently shared the Vice Grip Garage disassembly video where Derek took apart their 1998 Corvette Convertible all by himself. This is important because he lifted the body OFF of the entire drivetrain so he could use it in another project. It turns out that the 1776 Monte Carlo is that project. CLICK HERE IF YOU MISSED THAT VIDEO

This isn’t going to be a quick swap, as there will be plenty to do in order to make the now famous 1776 Monte Carlo into a more modern runner. Will Derek install the entire drivetrain out of the Corvette, or is he just swapping the LS1? Would you like to see the entire drivetrain go into it, including the independent rear suspension? I think this is going to be a fun project and I’ll bet there are some twists before it is all over.
