Crazy Photos: The Entire Sideways Smoking Nova Burnout Sequence

Crazy Photos: The Entire Sideways Smoking Nova Burnout Sequence

Last week we dared you to try and caption one of the coolest drag racing photos we had seen in some time. The Nova in the photo was in the middle of a monster burnout but was completely and utterly crossed up and appeared to be on a crash course with the far wall of the track. The photog who took the shots, Peter Donaldson sent us the entire sequence, and it is totally great.

It should be noted that these photos were taken in England at Shakespeare County Raceway, which started life as an airfield back in the 1940s. In 1973 the first big time drag racing event was held at the facility and it has been a part of the straight line culture in the UK ever since.

Peter did an awesome job capturing the great save made by Bryan, the pilot of the Nova when all appeared to be lost. Here’s to great shooting and great driving!
