Exclusive Find: Huge Collection Of Classic Iron On Rural Nebraska Farm – Cool Cars, Trucks, Machines

Exclusive Find: Huge Collection Of Classic Iron On Rural Nebraska Farm – Cool Cars, Trucks, Machines
(Words and photos by Scott Liggett) – Our midwest reporter, Scott Liggett, is still trying to get used to the small town life after living in big Los Angeles for fifteen years. He has been out exploring the tiny towns of Central Nebraska. He has found some really cool stuff too.
About a year ago Scott ran down to a hamlet a few miles away to pick up a new/used refrigerator for his new house. On the way home, he spotted this abandoned farm that was literally littered with farm equipment, old trucks, and industrial engines. He stopped and took a closer look. But, out back he discovered dozens of Caddy’s, Buicks, and Packards all parked neatly in rows like a parking lot of a dealership. The owner even organized his grassy lot by decade. Sadly, the sun was going down and Scott didn’t have his camera.
After discussing the collection with a friend who knows the owner, we discovered this isn’t a junkyard, but a collection. The owner amassed these machines over a long time and parked them here. As far as we know, they are not for sale. After getting reasurrances the owner would not mind, Scott decided to go back and grab some shots for us.
Among the private collection are a pair of rare Packard Ambulances, tractors dating back to the steel wheel era, a few Lincolns, old Chevy’s, and a Corvair plopped on top of what was the front porch of the house, and an Austin Healey that looked like it run over by one of the big Cadillacs.
Check out the gallery for the rest of Scott’s pictures of this amazing collection.

As a fellow Central Nebraska car guy…. SSSSSHHHHHHHHH. Stop telling people about our treasures…..

There used to be a 1953 Packard Ambulance down here by us. It was an old Air Force ambulance, but was then painted over for local use. Had 2 big I8 engines in the back. Thought it would be a cool project, but never did pick it up. Gone now.
