We’ll admit that lots of times we do not exactly agree with all that Autoextremist’s Peter De Lorenzo has to say. He’s a guy who grew up in the auto industry and spent many years working within its walls. He knows the people, the systems, and most importantly, the inside dope on stuff. This week’s column is an ode to the Woodward Dream Cruise and Detroit’s role in the automotive landscape.

In many ways De Lorenzo is like us. He has watched in pain as brands like Pontiac were pulled apart piece by piece and then essentially thrown the the curb with little to no regard for history. In others though De Lorenzo can be very dramatic, depending on the subject matter.

This one reminds us that Detroit is not dead and that there is hope yet for these companies and the USA as a county.
