Johnny Gray may be the happiest man in America these days. Having just sold his petroleum and natural gas business for more money than some countries are worth, and changed professional NHRA classes from Pro Stock to nitro Funny Car, life is pretty good. Johnny’s son Shane is ready to kick some ass in the Pro Stock ranks, building on his success from last year.
Johnny tells us about making the switch, and about his son’s interest in fuel cars, which is zero. Gray is a long time vertern of the sport and this is not his first time in a nitro flopper. He last occupied the seat of a Funny Car in 2006 for the always entertaining Paul Smith. It is always cool to see father/son combos in the pro ranks, but it is truly neat to see a pair in different classes!
