When you are Mike Finnegan, and decide you are taking your wife and kids to the river for a family vacation, where you can run Game Over up and down the river among your people, it shouldn’t surprise you if your wife decides she’ll just fly with the kids instead of riding with you in the used toterhome that you have been rebuilding. What makes it funnier is that the river I’m referring to is the Colorado river south of Havasu where the boats of the gods roam free and are full of Finnegan’s people. You know, those folks that know that jet boats rule and that big blocks in boats are supposed to have headers sticking up in the air. But I digress. This place is special to Finnegan and his wife, because they met on the river boating, got engaged on the river boating, and may or may not have started their family on the river boating.
When living in Southern California, going to the river is just a couple hours drive and is hugely popular. When you move to Georgia that becomes a bit more of a chore. So for the past 7 years they have not been back to the river and when a family vacation was on the table Mike and his wife decided that the river was where they were going! And instead of flying out and borrowing a boat for the week, they instead decided that bringing Game Over out would be the right choice. Well, Mike decided. And so they packed up the boat on it’s trailer, inside the gooseneck enclosed trailer, and hooked it to the back of the aforementioned toterhome and hit the road. Well Mike did anyway, and his smart wife and children decided they would let the airlines get them there instead.
There were no plans for videos, no plans for public appearances, just a family vacation. And it almost happened.
That was until Mike opened the trailer to check on the boat before arriving at the river. Watch the video, and know that after this was all over they did in fact vacation, and they had an awesome time. And incredibly awesome time. I talked to him on his way home, and can tell you that this won’t be the last cross country river trip for the Finnegan’s.
