Best of BangShift 2013: Watch A Mustang Violently Frag A Clutch During The Worst Failed Burnout Of All Time

Laying the hammer down while leaving a car show, the burger joint, an ice cream stand, or your parents’ driveway is part of the fun of snotty car ownership but that move isn’t without its perils. This guy found that out first hand when he attempted to do a burnout in his Mustang while leaving a car show in a foreign country we’re not able to identify.

Some part of us wants to believe that about five seconds into this exercise a competent, card-carrying BangShifter would have noticed that something was horribly amiss and the only thing that was spinning was the clutch, which must have been about worn down to the rivets holding it together before the driver decided to put on a show for the crowd. He makes it about 100 feet with the car on the limiter, clutch transmitting virtually no power to the wheels, and probably smelling horrendous in the car before comically loud sounds of parts and pieces hitting the ground can be heard. It is like something out of the movie sound effect department. The only thing missing is the “fail music” from the Price Is Right.

Here’s hoping wherever this dude lives has at least one capable shop that can swap a clutch in a Mustang. We’ve got this epic fail from a couple angles. Scroll down to see’em!

sounded like glass breaking lol, if the driver didnt realize nothing was happeneing he should park that car and buy a horse and cart…

Cliff Note: Never take your lack of power out on your clutch…it won’t put up with it.

Jesus, you would think that someone would yell stop. More than just one retard in this vid.

The driver banned in the above news report is not the driver of the mustang. The mustang burnout(??) was on Good Friday 29 March only a couple of days ago. Hope he does get pulled over it though, as muppets like that could end up getting the annual show closed down.

A great and totally inaccurate response. About the only thing you got right was the fact it was wheels day.
If you’d have been there you would have known that the showground was so boggy that there would have been no chance of jacking anything up enough to be ‘seen under his car’, and no, he hadn’t been doing burnouts earlier in the day.
Also, the report link at the bottom of your post has absolutely no relevance to either the person, the car, or the event in question. The court case and ‘ban’ was two days before Wheels Day.
If you’re going to join in the great ‘Mustang Burnout’ witch-hunt at least get your facts right before posting.
      Muppet.

just what i read on a forum posted by those who were there. A forum on which many of the used attend wheels day and is a uk hot rodding forum, the thread titled ******* of the day.
no need to get angry and start name calling, easy enough to do from a keyboard…
.Regardless he shouldn’t have being doing burnouts and he screwed his car which serves him right,IMHO as ive seen many near misses and shows given a bad name due to the one who fancied doing a burnout.

  5. The Legend

Not getting angry, just sorting the facts.
I was there, I even know the guy, and I also know that a lot of people who are posting on the UK forums weren’t there and are commenting on hearsay.

We’re all into cars to have fun with them, and it’s only when something goes wrong that we’re branded idiots.
