One of the most fuel injection phobic dudes we know has finally taken the plunge (we’re getting ready to do it ourselves!) and added electronic fuel injection to his most trusty and long owned hot rod. That’s right, Freiburger installed a FAST EZ-EFI 2.0 system on the big 480ci Hemi that powered his well known Super Bee. This video is cool because he takes you through the components, steps, potential pitfalls, and installation process for this well known system. Capable of supporting more than 1,000hp and compatible with the nitrous setup he has on the car, the EZ-EFI 2.0 system was a great choice to replace the carb atop the big Chrysler elephant motor.

In the case, of the Super Bee, the car already had a pretty robust fuel system installed so it took a lot of that part of the install out, but the reality is that this setup can be run as a return or return-less system to meet your needs. You may already have a zooty fuel delivery system on your car and it will only require minor tweaks to meet the needs of the fuel injection. It was not long ago that any sort of fuel injection upgrade was a massive headache that relied on technology that was not always reliable and not always user friendly. Those issues are long gone today because these units are amazingly self contained, self tuning (or manually tuned if you want), and require basic skills like the ability to plug stuff in to get them working. Anyone who remembers trying to move tiny dip switches while the car was going down the road on early EFI systems can really appreciate how good the FAST EZ-EFI 2.0 really is.

    “And I’ll just fire it for the first time…” But… the coolant temp is already at 166 degrees… lol.

    I noticed that in the video. I can tell you mine lit after less than 10 sec of cranking from about 50f water temp and was a little waverry at idle for less than a minute then was fine. It would be more honest to show that , I think it would show how good it is more than being a problem.

    Im not gonna lie Frieburger was awesome car craft circa 1997 when i started reading. I think the basis of my hotrodding has been based off Street Sleepers that Haul Ass Feb 1997. He is not the same since joining hot rod booooooooooo.

    I caught where he said it could be used in a pair of them.1. will they make it have a dominater bolt pattern instead of an adapter? 2.Have they tried this with a throttle stop type of racecar?
