There’s no doubt about the fact that the EFI revolution is on these days. From the drags to the mud bogs and as this video proves, to air boats, everyone is jumping on the wagon of fuel injection. In this video you’ll see a 507ci Cadillac engine with twin turbos (which are not plumbed into the intake as of yet) running and being tuned up with Holley’s EFI equipment and software. You can see the dude on the lap top working on the fuel and ignition parameters on this big monster. Air boats down in bayou country are serious business. Guys match and grudge race these things for big dollars on marshes and swamps. If you lose down there an alligator can eat you, so the stakes are high.
We have no idea what this big twin turbo Caddy engine makes for power but it has to be stupid fun spinning the big prop at the rear of the air boat. The engine sounds great and we sure wish there were some dyno videos of the thing on the pump, making some numbers with the turbos hooked up, but we can’t find any. Hey, if guys in freaking air boats are bolting EFI onto their stuff, especially twin turbo Caddy engines the time is right to add this to your hot rod!
We’re wondering if the engineers at Holley had the air boat market in mind when they developed the company’s highly regarded EFI systems? Probably not, but here’s proof someone did!
