Watch A Nelson Racing Engines Custom, Billet, Twin Turbo Hemi Makes 2500hp on the Dyno!

We have featured some cool engines and cars from the shop of Tom Nelson, but this one may take the cake. Using a CAD designed, billet aluminum block, a set of his “mirror image” twin turbos, and his “alien intake”, along with a bad ass set of cylinder heads, this wild Hemi cranks out 2500hp and looks like it is trying to rip itself right off of the dyno stand!

Playing with the boost levels, Nelson shows what the engine is capable and he also spends a lot of time talking about the development process and the background behind this really gnarly mill. The video is almost 15-minutes long and we found it to be pretty interesting. We have absolutely no idea what this project cost, but it had to be astronomical. Just factoring in the time involved to design the block and machine it, disregarding all of the parts, dyno time, and tuning, and you are still looking at bank robbery-esque sums. That being said, we are happy that someone has the jack to fund a project like this because there will surely be trickle down benefits for customers of Nelson’s business in the future!

Press play and watch a really pissed off Hemi!

Has anyone seen the F-Bomb running in the last two years? It has one of this guys engines and to my knowledge they nver got it sorted out. Cool conceptually but if they can’t be used in an actual running car at somethong approaching full potemtial what’s the point? Larson’s Nova makes this kind of power and its street driven and runs sixes. I’ll reserve further adulation for these Nelson creations until they perform in real world applications.
