As you know, we’re easily entertained around here, so when we saw this video of a Mustang suffering a nitrous backfire at Houston Motorsports Park we wanted to share it. While this certainly isn’t the biggest or most violent nitrous pop we have ever seen on the strip, the results are pretty entertaining. According to the description on the video, the backfire happened because the racer forgot to tighten the distributor down prior to this run. The loose distributor jumped up, the timing went to crap, and then the pyrotechnic show happened.
Watching the little scoop blast off and then change directions, cleaning the roof mounted camera right off the top of the car is an angle we’ve never witnessed before! Again referring to the description on the video, the camera still worked after this incident, speaking to the toughness of the action/sports cameras on the market today.
Count to three, hit the red button and DUCK!
