Best of BangShift 2013: Watch A Custom Built V-Twin Spin To 12,000RPM And Make Nealy 120hp For A Pulling Garden Tractor!

Tractor pulling, in all of its various forms is pretty serious business. Sure the big diesel super stocks get lots of glory and we always pee a little when we see a machine with multiple blown engines, turbines, or radial airplane motors running down the course, but the guys who pull highlight modified garden tractors are just as bad ass as all the others. Don’t believe us? Watch this video which features a custom built V-twin engine that is probably out there wreaking havoc as we speak.

Yes, motorcycle engines wing way up to a million RPM and we know that, but this is going in a damned garden tractor and that is so wrong that it’s absolutely right. The engine was built by Midwest Super Cub and when you watch the screen and see what it is capable of your eyes will probably bug out like ours did. We watched this video like 10 times looking at the hp dial on the left side of the screen, the EGT readings on the bottom, the tach, the oil pressure gauge, all of it. This engine in a junior dragster chassis would be worth the price of admission to test out. Just listen to the thing as it climbs to the moon and the virtual tach needle spins right off the end of the dial. Hell, the computer screen flashes red when the thing clips 12-grand!

Screw the pulling stuff, let’s go to Bonneville with one of these bastards in a Cub Cadet and figure out some records to set!

Is that based on a Briggs and Stratton? Never mind putting it in a junior dragster, I’d like to run that in a sport bike just to cause mass confusion!

I had tractor puller mags years back that had a garden tractor that the X machinist made and engine around a Big Block Chevy Rod and Piston. It had a 4/71 Blower and Bug Catcher Fuel Injector setup on it. Wish I could remember what kind of HP it made but it did burn something like a Gallon and a Half of Methanol or more when it did a Pull.

Moto Guzzi 8-valve motor does 110hp/80ft.lbs.
    in stock configuration….1151cc’s….

Available in the Moto Guzzi Griso…..naked sport bike

The engine is a 45 cubic inch Kohler Command push rod engine with a roller cam set up and custom Jesel rockers. We’ve built another one since this video, made some minor changes and was able to get 132 HP out it, Striving to get 3hp per cubic inch with a naturally aspirtated pushrod engine.
