We love good tech videos here and we think that it’s cool Steve Dulcich has his own YouTube channel and it making some fun stuff for people to watch. A little while back we showed you his video on making some basic and cheap modifications to an oil pan for better oil control on acceleration and deceleration. Well today he’s showing us the proper and precise way to find top dead center during an engine build.
There are certain things in life like that horrifying multi-part math problem in high school where if you botch up the beginning, lots of other stuff becomes a huge problem. Knowing where TDC is and making sure everything jives with it is one of those things that is vitally important in any engine build, especially one that’s really going to make some power. This is a multi-step process that will insure you’ve got it right and you’ve got it perfect for the life of the engine as well.
Steve instructs in his easy to follow style and provides information and explanation as to what he is doing and why he is doing it. Stuff like just placing the dial indicator in the right place and why that’s important help to make this not only an informative tech video but an educational one.
