Now, THIS will be fun to watch. Our buddy Jeff over at the Horsepower Monster YouTube channel has decided that along with the killer engine content he makes, he wanted to get a car build going. Looking to step outside the established norm, he sought out a late C3 Corvette. Trying to keep a budget meant that he knew he’d be starting with something that needed plenty of help. Well, boy was he right. This 1980 Corvette presents a really challenging starting point but one that will make it really fun to see progress along.
Of all the obvious stuff wrong with the car, the engine presented its own unique surprises and none of them were good. We’ll not give away the punchline here but just watch to see what’s revealed, discovered, and facepalmed over in the course of his inspection.
The late C3 Corvette market is hauling tail right now so basically the C4 will be next to skyrocket in value. If you are looking for one of these cars as a builder, you best get on it now because we Jeff shows and tells us, there’s some slim pickings out there for good “starter” cars.
I hope he checked to see if he had the good heads on that 327 before he scrapped it.
i hope you replace the 327 with a rat motor (say 454). Something different. Everyone always swaps a ls into everthing.
