15 weeks until Drag week let's buy another project!

1993 Ford Lightning! It's got some major leaks, hopefully it's just the intake gaskets.

I have been splitting my time between mustang and the lighting. I got the upper intake off of the lighting, and the h-pipe off the mustang it's much easier to remove when the headers are off. I turned the headers to face forward then bolted stubs of an old stock exhaust.

I am looking forward to making some ugly welds. I can't decide if I want to MIG or TIG it.

Got the lower off the gaskets had been replaced before, they were bad. Pressure washed the intake.
Made a bracket to mount the turbo where the power steering oumpwould normally go.

I am proud of my bracket, but very few numbers and no calculations where used in the making. So I would call it custom fabrication! I have been around Dan too much so I am going to put a gusset or 3 on it just incase I ever want to stand on it or use it to pull the motor.

With the shape / angles I used the trim fit, trim fit, trim fit, tack, cut, adjust, tack, trim, weld method. It's not square, it bothers me but not enough to cut it out and adjust it.

Square to what? Ford hardly bothered to check, I think you'll be okay.

The turbine exit square to the FED. Parallel to the crank.

Ah.. I see. I was trying to say nobody will notice except you. I wouldn't have known. Turbos tend to end up where they fit....

I have to decide what I am going to do with the lighting before it gets a thread. I figure I can just mix it in here. Not alot yet. Next week I hope to get the heads cleaned up and the intake back on. I need to get a new PCV and the rubber grommet that it goes I guess it needs one of those metal screens?
