BangShift Housing Advice: If You Can Afford It, Pick Up The House At Conrod Straight!

BangShift Housing Advice: If You Can Afford It, Pick Up The House At Conrod Straight!

The one thing I will never, ever understand when it comes to racetracks versus the general populace is the amount of bitching that comes about from people who willingly move in next to an existing racetrack. When NCM Motorsports Park opened up in Kentucky a few years back, and the neighbors started to complain about the noise, okay…that was understandable. When the neighbors complained about Kansas City International Raceway and managed to get that track shut down for a myriad of reasons, it made no sense. Racetracks make noise, it’s just a fact. If you didn’t want noise, don’t move your happy asses next to one. Hey, would you look at that…common sense solves a simple problem. What a freakin’ surprise…

But what about those who not only can tolerate the noise, but would relish the opportunity to enjoy it?

Well, there is a way that you can do that. It’s not for everyone, and it’s going to cost you some, but how would you like to live in a house adjacent to the Conrod Straight of Mount Panorama? You know, Bathurst? Aussie cars? That kind of fun? Ten acres of heaven in New South Wales with several buildings, including a shop and “man cave”  and the best seat in the house for racing events…what’s not to love?

Price? Well…you’d probably be better off getting in touch with the actual realtor.

Wait, wait, wait……You want us to but a house in Australia? Home of extreme temps, drought, forest fires, dingoes, hoards of rabbits, grass hoppers, kangaroos, and toilets that flush clockwise? SIGN ME UP! 🙂

It’s really B.S. (and I don’t mean Bangshift!) that with all the liability lawsuits that go bashing about, that tracks don’t have the resources to sue 1) realtors who don’t stipulate “if you buy this place it’ll be noisy”, 2) land developers, 3) city councils and officials who allow housing to interfere with commerce.

Buying a place that is essentially in a whole country of California like restrictions and absurd laws?, I’ll pass.
