Water Meth Or Intercooler? Which One Really Does A Better Job Of Cooling An Intake Charge

Water Meth Or Intercooler? Which One Really Does A Better Job Of Cooling An Intake Charge

Meth is bad kids, but water meth is good. Real good. As good as an intercooler though? What do you think? It can absolutely lower air intake charge temps and raise octane as well. We’ve used it on different projects over the years and love the variety of ways to configure a good water meth injection setup whether you want something super simple or super trick. But we also like intercoolers. They work great on turbo and centrifugal supercharger installations and allow for more boost, more power, and more reliability in most cases. Sure there are exceptions to everything, and most people don’t worry about an intercooler when running fuels like M1 Methanol, but in general anything that makes the air intake charge cooler is a good thing.

In this video Richard Holdener shows the real deal test. Water Meth vs the Intercooler. Which one is better? Is one better at all? Or will both work just find in most applications? We don’t know the answer, because we haven’t watched the video yet either! Just kidding, we know the answer but we aren’t sharing it because you also need to watch the video and learn! Yeah learn, because it turns out there is more to it than just charge temp!
