Stolen: Four Dodge Aspen R/T Go-Karts Used By A Shriner’s Club In Indiana

It’s not like we can ever understand what the hell is going through a thief’s head when they decide to repurpose someone else’s goods for their own needs, but for some reason this particular theft is working a nerve a bit harder than normal. Maybe that’s because the four go-karts that were stolen from the Rolling Hills Shriner’s Club in North Vernon, Indiana are used as part of the Shriner’s Club fundraisers that go towards assisting children’s charities. Unfortunately for the thief, they picked some of the most visually catching go-karts to jack ever: four karts with 1977-era Dodge Aspen R/T bodies on them, black with the factory two-tone orange R/T striping. And it was only the Aspen-bodied karts that were stolen…two Dodge B-van karts were left alone.

The Shriner’s use the vehicles to help raise money towards Shriners Hospitals for Children, which help hundreds of thousands of patients each year. That might be the part that makes us sick about this one…some low-life targeted a charity that helps kids and stole their stuff. Help find it and get it back to the club.

I’m a Freemason. (Shriners are part of Freemasonry) Almost every Shriner activity exists in some way solely to raise money for the hospital. A hospital which is free of cost to the families of the kids they help. It’s pretty low to steal the karts used for fundraising to help kids.

Same thing happened last year down here in Houston. Shriner’s go-karts that often showed up at local Cruise Nights, were stolen. Welcome to today’s world.
